The Captain wins Mascor Monthly Mug

On a beautiful afternoon for golf the Monthly Medal with a reasonable field (a lot of big names missing)
Winner on an excellent score of 71 gross 68 nett was our Captain Jeff Keevy (Stan hopes he keeps this up for the Natal Vets at the Wild Coast)
2nd was Duggie Rheeder 70 nett (OB on the 1st)
3rd Len Mortimer was counted out, also with a 70 nett and
4th Mandhla Khumalo 71 nett.

It seems that no one had a 2 club so a carry over to the next competition of R36.00
Captains Putter ?????

ROUND TABLE is next week-end and the entry sheet is up on the board with very few names on it. Come on chaps PLEASE enter and save the club the cost of a phone call.

Mike Caldicott wins the Ind Stableford.

Saturday 27 October saw a reasonable field of golfers, especially as the final of the Bankfin Currie Cup was being played.
APOLOGIES must go to Mike Caldicott who won the competition on 37 pts - sorry Mike I was in such a hurry to get prize giving over before the rugby started. Anyway well done 2nd was Gideon Steyn 36pts on a count out from Peter Whiting also on 36 pts. Martin de Villiers also had 36 pts but lost on the count out. Len Mortimer was the only 2 club and pocketed R28.00

Next Staurday 3 November MASCOR Monthly Mug - Peter Whiting
10/11 November Round Table week-end of golf - Jeff Keevy will be the person on duty.
DON'T FORGET THE GREYTOWN GOLF CLASSIC ON SATURDAY 24 NOVEMBER.

Another point to remember:-
The shortest distance between any two points on a golf course is a straight line that passes directly through the centre of a large tree.

Child Welfare Golf day

Child Welfare Golf day was held on saturday 20 October with a very small field of 32 golfers, this was due largely to the Sharks game in Durban. Well done to the Sharks we are holding thumbs for next week at Newlands, we know you can do it.
It might have been a small field but everyone seemed to enjoy the day and the prizes were very good. thanks must go to Tiene Kloppers and Liekie Steyn and the Welfare committee for their hard work in getting all the sponsorship and organising the day with half way eats. jack and Di Mason once again did the board and book. jack also had a braai going and gave everyone a "large snack" of the venison that he had coocked.
The results were as follows:
1st Martin De Villiers & Mandla Khumalo 43 pts oco
2nd Andre Conradie & Richard Chiazzari 43 pts
3rd Ettiene van Rooyen & Piet Nel (GTN) 40 oco
